At DLD Support Services, I offer counselling that’s all about you - your needs, your pace, and your goals. Life is full of challenges, whether it’s navigating emotional ups and downs, working through personal struggles, or making sense of the past. My aim is to help you explore these areas in a way that feels right for you, with tailored support every step of the way.
About Me
I’m a Princes' Trust Level 4 qualified counsellor, and I’ve trained in psychodynamic, humanistic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I believe therapy should be as unique as the person receiving it. So, whether you’re looking to work through emotional difficulties, find clarity in a tough situation, or simply explore things at your own pace, we’ll work together to find the best way forward.
Like you, I’ve faced life’s twists and turns. I’ve experienced loss, sadness, identity challenges, and workplace stresses. These personal experiences, combined with my professional training, help me to understand the many different ways life can feel overwhelming. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard and supported, whatever you’re going through.
The Process
To make sure we're the right fit, I offer a free introductory session. This gives us a chance to talk about what you're looking for and how I can help. It’s also your opportunity to ask any questions or get a feel for how I work.
From there, if you feel ready to proceed, we’ll continue with £40 per session, with each session lasting 1 hour. I want to make sure you feel comfortable and in control of the pace we take, and I’ll adapt the sessions to what suits you best - whether that’s dealing with the past, managing current challenges, or planning for the future.
What to Expect
A safe, non-judgemental space where you can talk freely
Sessions tailored to your individual needs
Support in processing past experiences and how they impact the present
Practical tools and strategies for managing stress, anxiety, or emotional difficulties
The freedom to move at a pace that feels right for you
If you're ready to start, simply complete the self-referral form. Once I’ve received it, I’ll get
back to you within 24 hours with a link to choose a time for your free introductory session
that works best for you.
Together, we’ll explore what you need and how I can best support you.
I’m here to help you on your journey, and I look forward to working with you.
What My Clients Say
*"I would like to thank Darrel for his kindness and support during the counselling sessions. When I first met him, I could barely speak about the trauma that was negatively impacting my life. I felt hopeless, worthless, and tearful most of the time.
However, over the weeks, I was able to work through my emotions and the trauma using strategies that helped me reframe my thoughts. Now, I can recognize when I’m feeling worried and work through those emotions.
I am so grateful for the support I received and now feel hopeful rather than hopeless, worthy rather than worthless. Words cannot express my gratitude."*
